Name:
Encope tamiamiensis Age: Pliocene Formation: Tamiami Formation Location: South Florida Size: Fossil is 3.2 inches long Price:$16.00
Here is an attractive echinoid from the Pliocene of Florida. This is a large example of Encope tamiamiensis, a ''sand dollar''. The classic shape, with the notches and large hole, is easily seen. The wide, petaloid ambulacra on the top of the urchin is clearly defined. The sand dollar is free of matrix and displays well. The off-white coloration of the fossil is quite striking. This is a very detailed example of a fossil sand dollar from the ''Sunshine State''.
