This is a very nice example of an irregular echinoid. It is a fine Ilarionia demesi from the Jurassic of France. This striking sea urchin has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. The echinoid is very inflated and exhibits excellent detail. Under magnification, the ambulacra of the echinoid is clearly defined. Both sides of the sea urchin are extremely well preserved. This is a wonderful specimen of a Ilarionia demesi sea urchin from Europe.
