This is a very interesting fossil from the Silurian of Indiana. There is a fine gastropod, Platyostoma sp., on the plate. The gastropod is very detailed and shows the coiling pattern of the organism beautifully. The fossil is very 3-dimensional, exhibits fine detail, and has great color and contrast. The snail is well showcased on a large plate of matrix. This is a very displayable example of Silurian life from the Waldron Shale.
